Course Introduction

A two-year postgraduate programme in Jainology and Comparative Religion & Philosophy — A scholarly programme exploring the rich philosophical, ethical and spiritual heritage of Jain religion alongside comparative study of major world religions and Indian philosophical systems.

Course Objectives

  • Develop a deep understanding of Jain philosophy, scriptures (Aagam) and ethics.
  • Engage in comparative study of religious and philosophical traditions of India and the world.
  • Train scholars in analytical and interpretive skills relevant to religious studies.
  • Promote values of non-violence, tolerance and intellectual inquiry.
  • Develop advanced research and analytical capabilities at the postgraduate level.
  • Prepare students for doctoral studies or specialised careers.

Eligibility

10+2+3 or its equivalent with 45% marks in aggregate.
