Course Introduction

A post-doctoral D.Litt. programme in Jainology and Comparative Religion & Philosophy — A scholarly programme exploring the rich philosophical, ethical and spiritual heritage of Jain religion alongside comparative study of major world religions and Indian philosophical systems.

Course Objectives

  • Develop a deep understanding of Jain philosophy, scriptures (Aagam) and ethics.
  • Engage in comparative study of religious and philosophical traditions of India and the world.
  • Train scholars in analytical and interpretive skills relevant to religious studies.
  • Promote values of non-violence, tolerance and intellectual inquiry.
  • Produce substantial original research culminating in a published work of high academic merit.
  • Make distinguished, recognised contributions to the discipline.

Eligibility

Ph.D. in concerned subject with substantial published research and outstanding contribution to the discipline.
